Week 5

On Monday the new roof trusses go up.  Seth was not home to document the crane lifting them up.

The old roof is still on underneath.

Aurora wants to go up and look.

The next few days we remove the old roof underneath and slide in the new floor trusses.

New stairwell space is prepared.  (It’s hidden underneath the temporary floor we slid in.  Easier to walk around.)

New roof is put on the upper part.

End of Week 4

Roof trusses are delivered.

The entire upper part is water proofed and ready to set the roof trusses.

Week 4

The roof edge is cut and the new floor trusses are slid into place.  Seth had to unhook all the power in the house and pull all the electrical back.

The new gable is set above the garage.

Seth reconnects all the electrical lines.

The eastern wall is built on the old part of the house and more framing is done to the front.

Roofers tear off and shingle the old east roof and new garage roof.

Dean Paul picks up a hammer to help dad.

Construction Update–Week 3

 

Future part of kitchen and mud-room walls are framed.

The steel beam is put in place to set floor trusses.

A steel beam is tucked under the garage door. Seth got to remove and re-install the door.

The second floor on the back is framed up.
